Best optical performance in standard applications - even in humid environments and in the food industry. The transmitter and receiver module of the reflection sensor is located inside a compact stainless steel housing. The red light emitted by the transmitter is reflected by a triple mirror and evaluated by the receiver. The main advantage of using a sensor with a polarizing filter in combination with a triple mirror is that the probability of poor function due to high reflectivity (z. B. safety vests, etc.) is minimized. The light is focused on a triple mirror and is reflected at 90°. The polarizing filter only allows this light beam through the sensor switching. Even highly reflective metal objects can be detected as an object because their reflected radiation is stopped by a polarizing filter. The product has detectable protection classes IP65, IP67, IP68 and IP69K and can therefore be used in standard applications as well as in the food industry and in wet areas.

The AO002 is also available as the AO025 in a plastic version with a lower IP67 rating and without IO-Link.
